After the NFL Draft, rosters are for the most part finalized for teams heading into training camp.

After the draft concludes, teams sign undrafted free agents, to fill out the depth chart for camp.

But you might know that May is an underrated time for teams to sign veterans who did not sign with a team during March and before the draft took place.

Teams might have cap space and a need for a position after the draft. Free agents like to wait after the draft for a better outlook on an opportunity with a team. Pro Bowl safety Tyrann Mathieu waited to sign with the New Orleans Saints on Monday after the draft.

One former Buffalo Bills player also signed with a team on Monday.

The Houston Texans have signed former Bills defensive end, Mario Addison.

Addison was signed by the Bills in 2020 as an undrafted free agent. The now 34-year-old was released as a cap casualty this off-season. He will continue his career with the rebuilding Texans, and general manager Nick Caserio.

Addison is part of a long list of former Carolina Panthers players who found their way to Buffalo. Both general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott came from Carolina, and the connection has been well documented by fans and the media.

Hopefully, Addison does good things for the Texans. He was a great player to have in the locker room in Buffalo.
