Maple weekend helped to kick off the first weekend of spring, but it’s not too late to be a part of the fun.

Every year, maple trees across Western New York and all of New York state are tapped nearing the beginning of the spring season.

And if you didn’t know, Western New York is one of the best places in the country when it comes to maple syrup production.

In our region alone, there are 50 maple producers that open up their facilities during Maple Weekend for people to come in and see the full production process of how maple syrup is made, along with other maple products (including those maple sugar candies).

The first Maple Weekend just wrapped up, but it is still something to celebrate because it is the first time Maple Weekend has returned since 2020.

If you missed out on being part of Maple Weekend, you can still come out to the free event on March 26-27.

You might even get to taste it!
