More than 10,000 people participated in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk! The event was held at the Outer Harbor Lakeside Bike Park.

“The Saturday event was a moving example how – united – we can make huge progress toward a world without breast cancer,” said Krystina Burow, manager of community development for the American Cancer Society, in a press release. “Our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk helps the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking research into causes, prevention, and treatments for breast cancer, provide free rides to chemo and places to stay near hospitals, a live 24/7 cancer helpline, and so much more.”

The 2019 walk was sponsored by Great Lakes Cancer Care, Southtowns Radiology, Windsong Breast Care, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, The Buffalo News REFRESH, WKBW-TV Channel 7, Country 106.5 WYRK, The Breeze 96.1, Power 93.7 WBLK, FARM, MassMutual New York State, and New York State United Teachers.
