Make Sure Your License And Registration Are Up To Date This Week

If you've been driving on an outdated license or registration, this is the week to get them both updated.  They'll need to be current by next Tuesday.

A few months ago, just about everything shut down to avoid spreading the coronavirus.  The DMV was included in those shut downs.  Normally that wouldn't have created a problem.  But if you had a registration or a license that was just about to expire, chances are, you might have begun to panic at least a little.

New York agreed to suspend fines and penalties on vehicles that needed to be inspected and registered and people that needed to renew their licenses.

But that grace period is coming to an end.  According to WIVB, as of Tuesday, November 3rd, you can once again be fined for out of date information when you get pulled over.

The good news is that many of the services you need have been reopened at the DMV.  And even better, a lot of them can be done online.

We were able to get my daughter in to get her driver's permit last month.  We had to make an appointment, but we were able to get it done.  Now we have a new driver on the road.  So look out!

I had to renew my license a couple of months ago myself.  Luckily, the process was very easy online and I had my new license in just a couple of days. To make it even better, I couldn't get a new picture taken.  So the picture on my license still makes me look like I'm 25.
