There's a major construction plan set to begin on Abbott Road in South Buffalo starting this summer, according to WGRZ.

The $10 million project will reportedly take three years to complete. Everything will change in a big way, according to South District Buffalo Common Council Member Christopher Scanlon.

“This is a complete infrastructure overhaul. So we’re talking about the street, sidewalks, curbs, lighting, the whole shot,” Scanlon said.

There will be three phases of the construction:

  • The second will be Potters Road to Dorrance Avenue, likely next summer.
  • Last will be the road section in front of Mercy Hospital, which sits on Abbott near Cazenovia Park.
