When I was a kid, one of my favorite days of the year was when the latest edition of the Madden NFL game was released.

Madden NFL is one of the most successful and popular video games of all-time and while some have criticized the game over the last decade, it has remained a constant for sports fans and even pop culture.

The Madden 23 game will be released on August 19th, but the creators of the game at EA Sports have been gradually releasing player ratings over the last several days. They are going position by position.

On Wednesday, the ratings for the running backs were released and no surprise, the top rated backs in the NFL consisted of Derrick Henry (97), Nick Chubb (96), Christian McCaffrey (96), Jonathan Taylor (95) and Dalvin Cook (94).

The top-rated Bills running back was Devin Singletary (81), while rookie James Cook was next at a 75.

According to Ryan Talbot of New York Upstate and Syracuse Dot Com, the creators of the Madden 23 game had Christian Wade on the team...even though he is no longer a member of the Bills actual roster.

Wade was a Rugby player from England, who pursued an NFL career as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway program. He was signed by the Bills in 2019 and spent time on the practice squad over the course of three seasons.

Wade was not retained after the 2021 season, but is still a Bills running back in the Madden NFL 23 game.

I've seen instances like this over the last 20 years when it comes to the Madden game; the creators having players on the team, who aren't actually on the roster anymore.

Christian Wade still in the hearts of the Madden 23 gamers.
