Macy's announced that they will be closing three stores in the Western New York area.

According to the company's website, Macy's will be closing 40 locations including the main store and home store at the McKinley Mall, and the Eastern Hills Mall location.

The company is citing the weather, low consumer spending and an inventory surplus for the closures, which could jeopardize 155 jobs locally, and over 3,000 employees nationally.

Locally, the Macy's stores at the Walden Galleria and the Boulevard Mall will remain open.
