Looks Like Travelers Still Have To Follow Quarantine Protocols, Even With The Vaccine
There's a growing question going around from New York State residents, asking if they receive both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, does that mean they don't have to follow the quarantine and testing protocols if they fly or travel to another state?
According to a report by WGRZ, the answer appears to be "yes."
A spokesperson on New York’s COVID-19 hotline told WGRZ that people traveling still must follow the testing and quarantine protocols, despite the fact they have received the vaccine.
Right now, New York is still one of less than 20 states that still requires quarantine requirements for travelers.
There's talk of New York changing or updating their guidelines when it comes to traveling domestically, but it's unclear when the state will officially make that change (which some states already have).
According to New York State's current COVID-19 travel advisory, anyone who is out of the state for more than 24 hours must obtain a test within three days of departing. The traveler must also quarantine for three days upon returning. On day four, another get another COVID-19 test and when both tests come back negative that person can exit quarantine.
