Well, this is quite the surprise! It appears a major motion picture is set to be filmed in Western New York and guess what, they're looking for extras!

According to WIVB, Casting Buffalo has just posted a casting call for extras on what the website listing is calling a Paramount Pictures feature film!

Here's what they're looking for in regards to extras:

  • Anyone with an Amish-type beard or someone who could be shaped into having an Amish-type appearance.
  • The casting call is looking for Amish-looking extras of both men and women, along with all age groups, including children, teens and elders.
  • There's even a call for a "Youth German Singing Group," which you can see here.

The dates extras would need to be available for March through May, and COVID-19 testing is required prior and during filming.

Those looking to apply for these roles can visit Casting Buffalo's website or email submission@castingbuffalo.com.

My jaw almost dropped when I saw Paramount Pictures...this could be a big-time movie shoot coming to Western New York.

This comes after Bradley Cooper and Guillermo del Toro filmed Nightmare Alley in Buffalo back in February of 2020, as well as John Krasinski filming A Quiet Place: Part II in Western New York in 2019.

There was a tease that more major movie shoots would be coming to Buffalo a few weeks ago, so this could be the first of those!
