Local Restaurants Are Preparing for More Restrictions
The restaurant industry has already been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Locally, there are a few bar and restaurant business owners that I know personally that said it is not worth opening up right now under these current circumstances.
According to WIVB, based on the CDC guidelines, Governor Andrew Cuomo says if hospitalizations continue to rise indoor dining would have to be cut down to 25% compacity. In Erie County that would affect restaurants that are currently in the yellow zone, where dining is already down to 50% compacity.

These new measures will be difficult for restaurants that are already struggling to stay open. Without outdoor dining and limitations on indoor, I think you're going to see a lot of restaurants decide the 25 percent doesn't make sense for them to stay open.

There are many businesses here in our community that would be hurt if the hospitalizations continue to rise and Eire County has to go into the red zone. In my opinion, there should be a set of guidelines for restaurants to follow separately in order to still operate at a minimum of at least 50% that way businesses can stay afloat and people won't lose their jobs this time of year.
