At one time or another, we have all gotten up on the wrong side of the bed.  But what side do you actually sleep on, and does it change even if you are sleeping alone?

If you are a restless sleeper, like me, you may switch sides during the course of the night...that being the case, what side do you start out on?

According to research the top reasons for choosing a particular side are:

1.  It's easier to get in and out of bed on that side, or it's closer, to the door, 40%.

2.  My partner prefers the other side, 31%.

3.  Better access to the nightstand, also 31%.

(For the study, the "left" side was the side on your left if you're standing at the foot of the bed, not lying down.)

I have always preferred the left side of the bed. I hate sleeping near a wall and I like to at least have a view of the door. I also use a cpap machine and that is on a night stand that is near the left side of the bed. You may also prefer the side nearer the window if you prefer sleeping with a window open.

It also should be noted that the left side of the bed was closer to the dog-house, where I seemed to spend a good amount of time.
