A lake effect snow WARNING is in effect for parts of Western New York.

According to the National Weather Service, parts of Erie, Genesee and Wyoming counties could see between ten and eighteen inches of snow from late this afternoon until tomorrow.

Overall, it will be windy and very cold across Western New York for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
