After quiet weather the past two weeks in Western New York, this week should be a different story with gradually increasing systems as we get into the weekend (yes, there could heavy snow for the Bills home playoff game).

The first snow system will be Tuesday, according to WIVB Warn Weather.

A lake effect band of snow will set up during the overnight and early morning hours of Tuesday. It will start in the Buffalo metro, northtowns, and even the eastern suburbs such as Lancaster and Alden, before sinking back south of the metro by Tuesday afternoon.

Snowfall rates won't be anything we can't handle, maybe a few inches at the most with 1-2 inches for most. It will cause very slick roads while driving, however, so keep that in mind when commuting on Tuesday, especially the morning and midday.

More snow and rain on the way for Thursday into Friday and the biggest system of them all should arrive late Saturday night into Sunday with more lake effect snow, which would be amazing timing considering the Bills play the Baltimore Ravens at Bills Stadium on Saturday night.
