Kente Claus will be at Buffalo's Canalside today and there will be fun activities for the entire family.

You've heard of Santa Claus? Well, meet that other 'jolly old elf', Kente Claus. He proclaims, to anyone who will listen, that he's none other than Santa's South Pole counterpart. Kente Claus asked the wonderful entities leading the revival of Buffalo Place, one of Upstate Western New York's premier downtown neighborhoods, to help usher in an even more inclusive, more welcoming, more festive atmosphere at Canalside- the jewel of Buffalo's historic Waterfront Community. ~ Press Release

Curling

I'm definitely not an expert in curling, but it seems like bowling on ice.  You slide a stone across the ice, trying to reach the goal.  If you're looking to try your hand at winter sports, you can start with curling at Canalside. Anywhere from 4 to 10 people can play per lane at $15 per person.  Get more info here.

Visit Santa

Santa will be at Canalside on November 26 from 5 to 9 pm, and Sunday, December 5, 12, and 19 from 11 am to 1 pm.

Ice Bikes

Ice bikes cost $12 per half hour for a single rider. During the summer there are water bikes and this is pretty similar, it's just on ice.

The Ice at Canalside's exclusive attraction, Ice Bikes of Buffalo™ combines the activity of riding a bike along with the ability to perform this feat while on the surface of the ice. Ice Bikes of Buffalo™ will give you a way to participate on the ice if you are not the best on ice skates.

You can get all the info here.

Just keep in mind, so your day of fun doesn't get ruined, that Buffalo parking tickets can add up. Here's what you need to know about the fees before you head downtown.
