In case you missed it, Frito-Lay introduced its latest commercial starring Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. The funny commercial features Josh holding up a mirror seemingly practicing calling plays for a football game, possibly getting ready for his next career. A placard in the commercial says "Future NFL Announcer." The ad also features the Buffalo Bills mascot Billy Buffalo looking on kind of amused and curious about what Josh is doing. The commercial debuted tonight, Thursday, September 8, 2022, as the Bills take on the Los Angeles Rams.

Josh shot the spot about a few months ago at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, right before the Garth Brooks concert. The casting director for the commercial was looking for extras and actors, particularly a Josh Allen look-a-like. That leads me to believe the commercial will unfold at different points in time, revealing even more of a storyline. As you can see in the ad above, there is a very limited cast, so either they decided not to use the Buffalo cast, or we are just seeing a shorter version of the ad. Many companies are doing that with their commercials - making different-length ads out of one longer commercial, revealing various parts of the storyline at different times.

Josh is definitely a crowd and advertiser favorite. He has starred in many different commercials since becoming a part of the Bills,

He played college football at Wyoming, where he was a bowl game MVP, and was selected seventh overall by the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft.

I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this Lays commercial and more of Josh in other commercials now that football season is underway. Go Bills!
