If wasn't already apparent to you, winter is here and one of the great things about living in Western New York is that we deal with a lot of winter weather and the winter season seems to last forever.

It doesn't really last forever, but it sure does feel like it, especially since we've already had two massive snowstorms that have dumped more than 100 inches of snow on the 716.

While we never like to actually see this snow snowfall in such a short span of time, one of the good byproducts of this is now there is plenty of white stuff on the ground to go sledding.

Sledding with the kids is by far one of my favorite things to do in the winter and by looking at some of the sledding hills around the area, I'm not the only one who feels that way.

The best places to sled are often packed with people looking to fly down the hill and if that's something you're looking to do this year, then you want to check out a few of the places listed below:

Shakespeare Hill

Smack dab in the middle of Buffalo, Delaware Park has tons of great activities to do all year round, but now that winter is here, that means Shakespeare Hill is booming with sledders. The hills are lots of fun, and it's not too high so it's pretty easy to get back up the hill after you slide down.

Chestnut Ridge Park

Just a few minutes south of downtown, Chestnut Ridge is one of the best places for winter activities: whether it's snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or sledding, you can find it and have tons of fun outside. Chestnut Ridge also offers toboggan chutes which are loads of fun.

Ellicott Creak Park

Just north of the city, in the Town of Tonawanda, Ellicott Creek has tons of great hills to slide down. Plus its proximity to just about everything on Niagara Falls Boulevard makes it a great destination to check out if you need to get out with the family for a few hours.

Beaver Island State Park

Here's another park that has tons of great spots for you to have some winter fun. One of the best parts about BEaver Island is that, once you're done sledding, you can pull out your snowmobile and hit the trails.
