New York State Police Troopers have been busy in Western New York, making arrests for harassment, assault, domestic violence, and child sexual exploitation.

Grand Island Woman Arrested After Domestic Disturbance

A 42-year-old woman was arrested on April 28, 2023, by Troopers out of SP Clarence. The woman of Grand Island, was charged with second-degree Criminal Contempt and Resisting Arrest. Troopers were called to E. River Road in the town of Grand Island to handle a domestic dispute. The victim has an order of protection against the woman. She was taken to SP Grand Island and processed. She was given appearance tickets for the town of Grand Island court.

Rochester Woman Arrested For Bringing Marijuana In Prison

A 38-year-old woman was arrested by New York State Police on April 28, 2023. Teala Griffin of Rochester was charged with second-degree Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd. She allegedly had marijuana in her possession during a visit to the Elmira Correctional Facility. She was given a ticket to return to Elmira City Court on May 12, 2023.

Hamburg Man Arrested For Trying To Meet With Child For Sex

A 28-year-old man was arrested on April 27, 2023, by State Police Investigators of Latham. Cary M. Youngs of Hamburg was charged with the following:

On April 27, 2023, State Police Investigators of Latham arrested Cary M. Youngs, 28, of Hamburg, NY, for Assault in the Second Degree, Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, Attempted Criminal Sex Act in the Second Degree, Patronizing a Person for Prostitution in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations.

Investigators tried to arrest Youngs with the assistance of Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Youngs is accused of making arrangements to meet a 13-year-old for the purpose of sexual exploitation. He traveled to Colonie, NY, for the meeting. When police tried to arrest him, he fled in his vehicle, leading police on a 13-minute chase. He was finally taken into custody in the area of Troy Schenectady Road in Colonie with help from the Colonie Police Department, and the Albany County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to SP Latham for processing. After being arraigned at the Colonie Town Court and he was released on his own recognizance.

Elma Woman Arrested For Assault

A 30-year-old Elma woman was arrested on April 26, 2023, for assault. Troopers out of SP Boston charged Angelica R. Kester of Elma with third-degree Assault. Troopers were called to Bullis Road in the town of Elma to respond to a domestic disturbance. Kester was accused of causing injury to the victim. Kester processed at SP Elma and issued an appearance ticket to return to the town of Elma court at a later date.

Niagara Falls Woman Arrested For Road Rage Harassment

A 25-year-old woman was arrested on April 26, 2023, at 1:50 pm by Troopers out of SP Niagara arrested. Celeste J. Haynie of Niagara Falls, NY was charged with second-degree Harassment. Troopers were called to Interstate 190, Exit 31, to respond to a road rage incident. Haynie is accused of striking the victim roadside. She was taken to SP Niagara to be processed. She was given a ticket and is due in court later this month.
