There are many local restaurants in the Buffalo area. If you have lived here your entire life, then you know just how loyal Buffalonians are to the locally-owned restaurants that make up the community.

Outside of the Bills and Sabres, it's the thing Buffalo is most proud of: the food and the local restaurants which serve those dishes that we have been eating for years. It's also an easy topic of discussion for Western New York natives.

You know the conversations. Who has the best pizza? The best wings? The best restaurants in downtown Buffalo? Which places don't get enough credit?

When it comes to flying under the radar, there are quite a few places that you can mention. There's one place in West Seneca that for whatever reason flies under the radar, when it comes to Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai dishes.

It's called Asian Star and is located on Seneca Street in West Seneca. It's in the small plaza with Stevens Driving School, which is close to Union Road and the Southgate Plaza.

It's pound for pound, one of the best places for Chinese food in Western New York. The sesame chicken is unlike any other in the region and the cool part about the menu is that it has things you can't find at many Chinese restaurants, such as Thai dishes.

Gin Gin in Amherst is another awesome place for Chinese food that those around Sheridan and Maple Road know about, but not on the radar of those in the city or south of Buffalo.

Every time I go to Asian Star, I say to myself that I don't know why they are not more popular than they are?
