Is Niagara Falls The Best Part About Buffalo?
There are so many amazing things that make Buffalo, New York an incredible place to live and visit. But perhaps it is the proximity to Niagara Falls that truly makes it standout?
Growing up and living in Western New York my entire life I have grown to love the beauty of the region and all of the natural resources that we have. Lake Erie, the Niagara River and Lake Ontario give us so many options when it comes to recreation. But perhaps they should not be the first thing that people think of when it comes to visiting Buffalo or Western New York.
I found this video from a travel website that does a tour of Buffalo and highlights many of the great things that we have all grown to appreciate here in Buffalo. It is a list of the top 10 and topping the list is Niagara Falls.
While I don’t disagree that having one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World right here for us to enjoy anytime we want is spectacular, I am not sure that that is the number one thing I would suggest is the highlight of a trip to Buffalo.
The history of where we live is incredible and you can see it in the architecture and the buildings that are in downtown Buffalo. If you were to ask my opinion about what people should do when they come to Buffalo I would have to say get out and meet the locals. I still say the one thing that sets Western New York an Buffalo Park is the people.
We are truly the City of Good Neighbors and I think after traveling to other cities, it is clear what sets Buffalo apart is how genuine and real the people of Buffalo are.
Yes, a trip on the Maid of the Mist, or taking a selfie near the Falls is always a highlight for a trip to the area. But Buffalo is special because of the community we have built and that to me is number 1!
