Great news for fans of college football here in the Buffalo area. It was announced over the weekend that the next game the University at Buffalo Bills football team were playing will be seen nationally on ESPN 2.

Coastal Carolina will come to Amherst to take on the Bulls at home at UB Stadium this coming Saturday. The game will be seen nationally and this is a great opportunity again for UB Football to strut it’s stuff against a ranked team in the top 25.

Coastal Carolina is currently ranked 17th heading into this weekends game. The Buffalo team is coming off what was actually a decent game against a very strong top-five competitor this past weekend in Nebraska.

If you missed it, Nebraska went above and beyond when it comes to remembering the attacks of September 11, 2001. Not only did the team have a special uniform, Nebraska and their public relations department put together a very powerful video ahead of the game.

I was also impressed by the way the Buffalo Bills handled the remembrance of the 20th anniversary of the attacks as well. There were four families who were featured and introduced prior to the start of the game this past weekend at high Mark stadium. Those families each lost a loved one in the attacks on September 11, 2001. It was hard not to show emotion and actually shut a few tears when the anthem was performed by the daughter of a man who was killed in Manhattan that day.

Good luck to UB Football and congratulations on getting a slot on national TV this weekend. It is a great opportunity for the players and another great opportunity for the University of Buffalo and it’s program.
