ATV and dirt bikes riding illegally on Buffalo streets has become a huge problem in the city. Mayor Byron Brown has issued a warning to those who ride their off-road vehicles where they shouldn't be. I have seen it with my own eyes, especially on Niagara Street, where large groups of riders are putting themselves, drivers, and pedestrians at risk. Mayor Brown says the riders are causing havoc in the city,

Weaving in and out of traffic, moving in and out of residential communities, driving down commercial streets, in some cases, going the wrong way.

This has been an ongoing issue each summer. According to WIVB, residents have been calling City Hall to complain about the noise and danger the ATVs and dirt bikes are causing.

Deputy Police Commissioner Alphonso Wright issued a stern warning to riders,

We won’t tolerate these ATVs, riding in and out of our streets illegally. You more than likely will face a heavy fine and some probably won’t get that ATV back.

City officials are even offering rewards for tips that lead to the seizure of an ATV or dirt bike. Residents can call 716-847-2255 if the vehicle is parked. If you encounter an illegal ATV or dirt bike riding on city streets call 911.
