Icy road conditions appear to be the cause of a crash in the Town of Batavia early Thursday morning.

According to authorities, the accident happened around 3:30A.M. when a car crashed into a home on Route 98, near Elba-Townline Road.

The homeowner says that he was asleep when he heard a loud bang and discovered that someone had hit the front of his house. The driver was injured, but responsive, according to authorities.

The crash also caused a gas leak when the vehicle hit the gas meter, which has since been turned off.

Route 98 was closed for a short time, and salt trucks have since been in the area.
