On Thursday November 20th, 2014, encourage someone you love to make a plan to quit smoking. Tell them that when they quit, even for one day, they'll be taking the first step in living a healthier life and most likely, a longer one.

I used to smoke as a teenager and the way my grandfather showed me that it's no good for you was, to die from it. The video does contain a rather graphic description of what convinced me to quit...perhaps it will increase your chance of success.

The American Cancer Society does have a detailed guide to quitting. Here are a few;

Nicotine nasal spray works very quickly when you need it.
Combine the patch and other nicotine replacement products.
Chantix is a prescription medicine developed to help people stop smoking.
Yoga, mindfulness, and meditation aid in quitting smoking.
Set a date and plan to deal with the withdrawal symptoms.

Remember the American Lung Association is here to help you. Call their toll-free number: 1-800-548-8252 or visit the website: www.lungusa.org.

Good Luck!
