Christmas time is almost here and that means a lot of Western New Yorkers will be having family and friends over for dinner. Here is the perfect dessert you can make and wow everyone during your holiday get-togethers.

Slush Cake! Yep...good ol' Slush Cake. Growing up every holiday dinner my Mom would make this amazing dessert. It has everything you would want in a great dessert. It has the crunch of the chopped walnut base. The sweetness of the cool whip and of course delicious chocolate.

The best part is just about anyone can make it. I am by no means is a chef or baker but this recipe was so easy to follow that my cake came out amazing.

If you are headed to someone's house for dinner and don't want to bring the usual wine or flowers, a slush cake is perfect and I know your hosts will love it.

Here is the recipe that my Mom used to make all the time!

If you go ahead a follow the directions in my mom's recipe I know for a fact that you and your family and friends will love this dessert.

The thing you want to do is to make sure that this cake doesn't fall apart when you go to serve it is let it cool overnight in the fridge. Since this is not your typical cheesecake or baked cake, it can be a bit messy.

Why is "Slush" cake a very Buffalo dessert? I think because when you are eating it, it slowly begins to look like the slush you see on the side of the road. Every time I have this amazing dessert, I think of Buffalo.
