This is the face that greets you if you trick-or-treat at my door if you're old enough to shave.

Every year, I get yelled at. By you.

Because I don't think EVERYONE should go trick-or-treating.

By this I mean, I think around age 12 or 13 is a good cut-off for going door-to-door.  I know, call me the Halloween-version of "Scrooge", but in general, this is a kids' thing to do.

So if your 17 year old....or 23 year old....or anyone who appears old enough to drive...comes to my door, I'm not thrilled to pop a Butterfinger in the bag.

And IF an older kid DOES show up at my door, they had BETTER have a costume on.  I will not accept dirt-rubbed-on-the-face and ketchup on the shirt as a "zombie".  Wearing a Sammy Watkins jersey does not constitute a "costume".

Ok, go ahead:  Unleash your fury on me.

From our text line (716-241-9696) :

Jon / Buffalo: I do not care about age, but costume is a must have. I do not like seeing a hoodie and jeans. Get creative!!!!

Christine / Gasport: Move to the country. I have not had 1 person in 14 years

carey / lockport: I agree that grown people go out they need to have a good costume but if they want to spend the time going around go ahead. I think of it as they will get less candy than they could buy even at minimum wage if they spent what they earn working that same number of hours. Hope that makes sense.  You should get a sign like the ones at amusement parks that say you must be at least this tall to ride but yours can say you must be under this tall to get a treat at this house. Lol

Lorraine / Angola: Costume is a must

Stephanie / S. Buff: I don't mind giving candy to older kids if they actually put thought and time into their costume. But I hate giving kids candy when the only thing they wear is the over-done Scream mask or Jason hockey mask (or no costume at all).... But I begrudgingly give them candy so they don't egg my house later lol

Sandy / Tonawanda: LD I'm with you 100%! At 13 or 14 you have aged out...KK, I would still give you candy...but your the only one over 14! And how about this chick driving down the 90 going 50 miles an hour while READING A BOOK and smoking a cigarette!!! No candy for her EVER!

Pamela / Amherst: I agree with Laura. These big kids push the little kids aside when they come to your door. Also, they intimidate me when a group come to my door. They are too overwhelming.

Greg / West Seneca: Keith and Laura should go to Dave Universals house for Trick or Treat. If the can get through the security

Jill / Cheektowaga: 15yrs cut off!

Caitlin / West Seneca: This is Caitlin from West Seneca. If someone trick or treats on Halloween that is clearly older that 13-15 I throw dum dum suckers at them and yell dum dums for the dumb dumbs!

Denise / Lockport: I give candy to anybody that comes to my house and says trick or treat. Anyone that is trick or treating is a kid at heart and deserves candy

Dylyn / Wheatfield: I say if kids are choosing to be kids & trick or treat instead of bombing houses and being destructive let them be.

Wendy / Amherst: So hard- my oldest is 14, he's 6'1" and looks like a MAN. But he's still a boy at heart and wants to trick or treat with his friends. What to do??
