As we watch and wait to see if peace talks will make any progress between Russia and Ukraine, the oil market is also watching. The price per barrel of oil has surged this week and there are new calls for the United States to change it's dependence on foreign oil.

The price seems to have jumped ten cents at a time for the last couple of days. As a matter of fact, I was at a station in Lackawanna filling my tank and watched the employees change the prices as I was standing there. I don't think I have ever seen that happen. Our family has adjusted the way that we travel and where we go these days. Typically on the weekend, we would try to explore some different things around Western New York but those mini road trips are on pause. As the weather gets warmer, we will be walking to get our kids from school instead of driving to get them. It really isn't that far to school but when gas prices get this high, every bit helps.
