Don't tell the groundhog, but allegedly, it IS spring.  (Actually, it'll look and feel a lot more like it by Saturday...so hang tight.)

With that comes spring-cleaning time.  Like most people, I don't have a ton of cash to toss at sprucing up the place, but Men's Health released a budget-friendly list of small fixes that can make a huge difference.  Here are a few of 'em:

  • Replace Hardware on Your Doors.  New doorknobs and hinges are about $5 but make a big difference.
  • Re-Grout the Tiles in Your Bathroom.  Scraping out the old stuff and replacing it can cost as little as ten bucks, but makes the entire bathroom look/feel new.
  • Paint ONE Wall In Your Living Room.  The entire room gets a new feel, for about $25.
  • Change Your Light Switches.  You can do this for about $15 if you go with the cool dimmer switches...which can change the atmosphere of the room!
  • Get Rid Of Your Doorbell. (I can't say this is one I'm gonna do) Simple doorbells look too old-fashioned...but a video intercom (about $200) looks snazzy.  They do have wireless ones, if you don't want to mess with your electrical system.  Which you TOTALLY shouldn't, unless you're a trained electrician!
