The Eastern Hills Mall owners have been looking for someone to buy or partner with for some time. Now--thoughts of the down-spiraling mall may turn into a lifestyle center.

WGRZ's Danny Spewak got the scoop:

A spokesperson for the mall's owner, New Jersey-based Mountain Development Corporation, confirmed on Tuesday that the company has entered early discussions with real estate firm Uniland Development about a major redevelopment plan for the Eastern Hills Mall.

They think that the cost will be around $200 million. Keep in mind that this is in the very early stages, but the Town of Clarence is starting to prepare if it were to happen as well.

Officials in the Town of Clarence plan to put some zoning requirements for the building as it becomes an 'open-air concept with retail and residential space'.

Town officials also noted that no big box stores would be welcome.
