Heavy Rain May Delay Your Work Commute On Monday

Your commute to work may be delayed this morning due to flooding. Several roads in Western New York are currently closed as a result of the rain from Sunday night, leaving an excess of water on the streets. 

While roads are expected to open up later this morning, you can expect a backup of traffic in some cases where the water level is excessive. 

William St. in the town of Cheektowaga was closed in both directions early this morning from Harlem Rd. to Cayuga Creek Rd. A few cars had gotten stuck in the water hovering under the overpass. Those cars have since been able to get out of the water safely; however, precaution is still advised in your morning commute on Monday. 

There is some water backup on the I-90 East exit onto William Street (labeled exit 52A). The exit is open for travel, but be aware of the water when traveling. Puddles are deeper than they look. 

Another road commonly traveled in Western New York, Transit Rd. in Depew, is closed in both directions from Walden Ave. to Broadway. This road has not yet been confirmed to have reopened as of 5:30 am.
