We asked this question last week on Facebook and got 97 responses and the majority of them surprised us.

First, the backstory, and then I will share with you some of the comments.

Since COVID began in March of 2020 travel has been on the back burner.  Last year people spent money improving their surroundings, putting in gardens, swimming pools, things that gave them pleasure while we were confined to our homes.

We spent more time with our immediate family, sometimes too much time it seems. But as of this past Spring with vaccinations on the rise and COVID seemingly at bay, restrictions eased, masks came off, and travel slowly resumed.

Then the Delta variant surfaced along with apprehension.

People were told to delay travel until you are fully vaccinated., and if not fully vaccinated travelers needed to strictly follow CDC’s recommendations.

The entire list of CDC recommendations can be found here.

With the high rate of transmission from the Delta variant concern over travel seemed to heighten due largely to spending time in security lines and airport terminals, in close contact with other people, and frequently touched surfaces. While it was determined that viruses and other germs do not spread easily on flights because of how air circulates and is filtered social distancing remained difficult on crowded flights, which could increase your risk for exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19.

So we put it to our listeners directly..."Have you felt comfortable enough to travel this year?"

The large majority that answered surprisingly enough didn't have an issue with traveling.

Here is a sampling of their responses...
