As things slowly return to normal here in Western New York after COVID-19 there is another problem local businesses are facing, a lack of a workforce.

Many area businesses are looking to hire staff but the lack of employees has left some places in a lurch especially restaurants.

One Hamburg restaurant took to social media to offer an apology to their customers for their employee shortage.

The Coyote Cafe in Hamburg has been struggling to have enough staff to man their restaurant and their mobile kitchen and posted on their Facebook page explaining what they are going thru right now.

In part of their post, they stated that the health and wellness of their staff is their #1 priority and that they are currently facing several challenges due to unexpected medical issues with their loved ones and staff.

They issued an apology to a giveaway winner because they didn't have enough staff to make the event happen. In the post, they said they tried to work out several different solutions including sending a different food package but still couldn't do the event as they had hoped.

In light of this post, I know many of us want to support local businesses across Western New York but we must also remember that these small businesses are not out of the woodwork when it comes to COVID-19 and we are not back 100% to normal.

So, please if you are going out to eat, shop, and spend at these local businesses have some patience and if you know of anyone looking for a job, there are plenty out there including at the Coyote Cafe.
