In fact, the site NYUP.com has eleven cool spots.
Here are their top two:
1) Montreal
If you want to experience French culture without hopping on a plane and flying to Europe, Montreal, the second-most populous municipality in Canada, might be the next best thing. The city has a strong French influence found in some of its historic structures like the Notre-Dame Basilica, which stands in Old Montreal, or the Parisian cafes lined along its cobblestone streets.
Montreal also has, like Buffalo loads of festivals, such as the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Or for a total difference how the Barbie Expo, a museum dedicated to Barbie dolls. I am sure Ken is overwhelmed. ;-)
2) Stowe, Vermont
This place was picked because there are tons of things to get into, from zip-lining, hikes and treetop adventures. One suggestion from the site is to try biking or walking the 5.3 mile Stowe Recreation Path, which crosses over brooks and footbridges, very quaint.
Here is the rest of the list.
Don't forget your car emergency kit.
