This is a great opportunity for your kids to learn the basics of fishing at one of the most beautiful parks in the country!

Erie County officials announced the next "Friday Fishing" will take place August 16th at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park.

According to a web post:

Kids (4-14 years old) can join an Erie County Park Ranger on Friday evenings to learn the basics of fishing. In addition to fishing, participants can learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, knot tying, angling ethics, and aquatic ecology.

Fishing poles will be provided but this program is limited to 15 kids, due to equipment limitations. Parents must stay on site and supervise their children. Parents do not need a fishing license for this program. Meet at the fishing pier.
