Governor Cuomo Recommends No Large Family Gatherings This Thanksgiving
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just four weeks away. This year's holiday is sure to feel a bit different with the COVID-19 pandemic, with most stores that are usually opened on Thanksgiving, closed this year due to the pandemic.
The pandemic is also having an impact on Thanksgiving dinner itself.
According to WIVB, Governor Andrew Cuomo advises against large family gatherings this year.
“My personal advice is that the best way to say “I love you” this Thanksgiving, the best way to say “I’m thankful for you”, is to say “I love you so much, I’m so thankful for you, that I don’t want to endanger you so we’ll celebrate virtually,” Cuomo said.
Cuomo also said that while nobody in New York State will be banned from seeing family elsewhere in the country, he asks those traveling to adhere to the travel advisory and quarantine upon return to New York State.
My fiancee and I are planning on attending a small family gathering in Batavia with her parents and sister. The ongoing pandemic is certainly going to be an easy conversation starter over turkey and stuffing this year though, right?
