Another face will soon leave News 4.

The news channel has experienced some serious changes to their morning Wake Up, with Mel Orlins and Jhas Williams announcing their departure within the last two months.

Now, we’re losing Gabrielle Mediak, the voice and face behind Good News with Gabby.

Mediak joined News 4 as a reporter in January of 2019. Growing up in Lancaster, Mediak has had #BuffaloPride like none other on television.

Before joining the team at News 4, Mediak covered news as a reporter in Syracuse and Elmira at Spectrum News, and she has been part of our mornings at News 4 for over three years.

She announced the news on her Twitter and Facebook page on Monday evening.

“I have bittersweet news to share, this is my last week at News 4 Buffalo.

I’m so grateful to have told the stories of incredible people in the community I grew up in. It was a dream for me to work at the legacy station I watched as a little girl.

Good News with Gabby allowed me to shine a light on all the amazing things happening in our own backyards.

And being someone people looked to for the latest information, is something I never took lightly.

Buffalo is and will forever be my home. This isn’t goodbye, it’s see your later.

I’ll have more soon.. but for now as they say in TV.. stay tuned.

I love you, WNY. Go Bills!”

We’re going to miss Good News with Gabby, something that reminded the City of Good Neighbors every morning of the good that is in our community. It always inspired you to pay it forward, and I think it’s safe to say the Queen City will continue that initiative.

Here's a video from last year's Turkey Trot.

Gabby seemed to make it all over Western New York, managing to cover every town, village, and hamlet. She was perhaps the most community-involved reporter at News 4.

UPDATE: Mediak received a career opportunity she couldn't pass up, and she will now become the main morning anchor in a slightly bigger market than Buffalo. While the city and that television has yet to be revealed, she did tell the Buffalo News that it is in a Top 40 market.

We’re going to miss you, Gabby, but we’ll “stay tuned” for where you end up next. Go Bills.
