If your family loves fresh produce, there will be free boxes of produce being handed out in Niagara County this Friday.
The giveaway is part of the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County's Farmers to Families foodbox giveaway.
The boxes will be filled with 20 pounds of fresh produce that could include things like:
Potatoes (1-5 pounds)
Oranges (1-4 pounds)
Apples (1-3 pounds)
Onions (1-3 pounds)
Green vegetables (1-3 pounds of broccoli, cabbage, green pepper, etc.)
Carrots (1-2 pounds)
The giveaway will take place at the Niagara County Fairgrounds at 4487 Lake Avenue in Lockport, NY and will begin at 10am and will conclude when all the boxes have been given away. There are no restrictions on who can take part in the giveaway. And again, it's all free!
The Farmers to Families Food Boxes program has already given away 5 million boxes of produce and they're not ready to stop yet. They're aiming to give away 40 million by June 30th.
