The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from 1pm Thursday afternoon through late Friday night.

The Flood Watch includes ...Chautauqua, Northern Erie and Southern Erie counties.

Unseasonably warm weather with temperatures reaching 50 or better will result in a rapid melting of our dense snowpack. The runoff will cause creek levels to rise and increase the risk of ice breakup and associated ice jams.

Ice jam flooding is possible on some Buffalo area creeks including Cazenovia, Cayuga, the mouth of Cattaraugus Creek and near Sunset Bay later Thursday through Friday night.
