Even with a few sprinkles of snow in April, it's still starting to look like spring and summer. For me, one thing that lets me know it's time for summer fun is the fleet of flamingo boats reappearing at Hoyt Lake. It's becoming a tradition that they are one of the sights that indicate summer is on the way.

According to the booking calendar for the flamingos on the Buffalo Maritime Center's website, the boats are available to book starting Saturday, May 7, 2022. That's Mother's Day weekend, so you can plan a whole day at Delaware Park - take her for a boat ride, then grab a bite to eat at The Terrace at Delaware Park, The Juicery, Parkside Meadow, or plan your own picnic with her favorite food and beverages.

If you and the family are looking for something fun to do together or maybe you want to take a date someplace other than a restaurant, these peddle boats are a great option. While there are regular canoes available for rent as well, the flamingo boats are definitely the most popular. Check out the pictures, prices, hours, and other "need to know before you go" info below.

After your boat ride and your walk around Delaware Park, why not grab a bite to eat. Check out some restaurant selections close to Delaware Park below!
