News 4 (WIVB-TV) Meteorologists predict as the cold continues to deepen into our area this morning expect any remaining rain to switch to snow.  There will be a noticeable spread in accumulation from north to south into the day Monday, thanks to the addition of lake effect in the hills. For Niagara, Orleans, and Northern Erie Counties, expect little more than a dusting on the grass. Along and south of Route 20A is where we can start to see closer to an inch. Expected accumulation picks up farther south, with about 1-3″ near the Boston Hills into northern Wyoming County, and 2-4″ closer to the Cattaraugus and Allegany County lines. The highest totals are likely to be found in the Southern Tier, particularly in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties (away from the lakeshore,) where upwards of 3-7″ are possible through Monday morning.

After a blustery, and snowy start for some Monday, the weather will begin to quiet down. A few areas of mixed lake effect showers will continue off and on, mainly south and northeast of Buffalo, but with little impact. While still breezy temperatures recover into the low 40s by afternoon. Snow will begin to melt, with some breaks of sunshine are expected. Election Day Tuesday will bring a mix of clouds and sun, with just a light sprinkle possible. The rest of the week looks promising, with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the low 60s Wednesday through Saturday.
