The day after Christmas is usually a relaxing time for many, and this year that was even more evident since the day after Christmas fell on a Sunday

Unfortunately, there was a reported incident at the Walden Galleria and for whatever reason, it's the latest December 26th edition of fighting breaking out at Buffalo's most popular mall; which has happened multiple times in past years.

According to the Southtowns Scanner on Facebook Sunday evening, multiple fights involving approximately 150 youths broke out at the Walden Galleria.

The fighting started in the food court and took place at multiple areas of the mall's property. There was even reported shots fired on the parking deck.

According to the scanner, mall security requested police backup, which arrived shortly after the call for assistance.

Southtowns Scanner reported in the comments section that an individual of a gun in the area of the parking deck. That was at roughly 7:34 pm.

Additional reporting stated that the mall was completely cleared out shortly after 8 pm, with no further assistance needed at that time.

UPDATE: According to WIVB, Cheektowaga Police sent out a press release on Monday, stating that there were multiple fights that did break out at Walden Galleria on Sunday evening.

Numerous people were kicked out of the mall and two juveniles were arrested in what were called, "separate incidents." Some of the youths who were kicked out of the Walden Galleria had to be looked over while a parent or guardian picked them up.

Other fights involving weapons were reported but nothing could be confirmed by police.

In another incident, not related to the fights, a 29-year-old Dave & Buster's employee was arrested for possessing a handgun while working.

Walden Galleria recently announced that a change in hours will start on January 2nd. They will be 11 am to 7 pm, Monday-Friday and 11 am to 5 pm on Sundays.
