The big day is here! Even though early voting has been going on for a few days, most are getting ready to vote for their favorite candidate. Millions will get out the vote on November 8th and many are saying it is one of the biggest decisions in decades.

Most voters are saying that the issue they are concerned about most is the economy and their personal finances. With interest rates soaring and gas and diesel prices skyrocketing, this year's election could be historic.

But there is something else that people will be seeing this election day 2022. When the sun is down and the sky is dark, look up. There is a full moon hanging over those who head to the polls. The clocks have been set back one hour and that means that sunset is pushed up to around 5pm. The moon will be big and bright (weather permitting) as many leave work and head for their voting place.

The BEAVER MOON will be in full view Tuesday across New York State.

The Beaver Moon reaches peak illumination in the morning hours of Tuesday, November 8, at 6:02 A.M. EST. Of course, it will be very close to full the night before, so plan to look for it starting on Monday, November 7, just after sunset!

To add to the fun, there will also be a full lunar eclipse! When you get out of bed early Tuesday, look for the moon to be shadowed by the earth. If you are near Lake Erie or Ontario, look west over the lake for the setting moon to be eclipsed. This will be the last lunar eclipse of it's type until 2025.
