If you’ve already got holiday shopping on the brain, you’re not the only one - and a few major retailers are right there with you and ready to offer some great deals earlier than ever.

Why are people shopping for the holidays so early?

Last year, in 2021, many people started their holiday shopping earlier than ever. If you remember, supply-chain disruptions and longer shipping times made us worried we wouldn’t be able to find what we wanted and get it in time for the holidays.

This year, inflation will drive us to shop early again by keeping our eyes open searching for the best deals to save money.

Some of our favorite large retailers have caught onto this and will start offering deals for the holiday season sooner than ever - beginning the first week in October.

Here are three places to start looking for great holiday deals beginning in October.

Target

Target recently announced they would bring back their Target Deal Days on Thursday, October 6th through Saturday, October 8th. During these two days, Target will be offering significant savings on thousands of products in every department in-stores and online.

In addition, anything you buy during their deal days comes with a Holiday Price Match Guarantee, meaning if the price of what you purchased goes any lower before December 24th, you’ll be eligible for a price adjustment.

Walmart

To compete with Target, Walmart will likely be rolling out some competitive deals in the coming weeks to lure customers into shopping for the holidays there.

Also, Walmart has revealed they will extend their Holiday Guarantee returns program, so anything bought on or after October 1st can be returned through January 31, 2023.

Amazon Prime

Not to be outdone, Amazon Prime is breaking out its holiday shopping guns with the Prime Early Access sale.  Like an “Amazon Prime Day Part Two,” they’ll be offering savings on thousands of items throughout the site on Wednesday, October 11th, and Thursday, October 12th. However, just like their previous big sale, these deals are available exclusively to Amazon Prime members.

With inflation taking a big bite out of our budget this year, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to start browsing in early October to find great deals and big ways to save on holiday shopping.
