First off, my son would kill me if he knew this picture was posted of him.  Unfortunately for him, this is my favorite picture and I love to show it.  For obvious reasons he hates it, but his expression is priceless.

If you're a parent you know that your kids stick to you like a magnet.  My kids are like a shadow.  What I have noticed is that the older they get the more uncool it seems to be around us in public.  In private they still want the treatment, but you get them to the mall and it's like we are not even related.  They are 9 and 5 and it is only getting worse.

I remember when I first started being embarrassed by my parents.  There really wasn't a reason, you just become too cool at some point.  It seems silly now, but my kids are definitely hitting that point.  I can't even imagine what it will be like when they are teenagers!

I am a stand up comedian so I don't even need to go out of my way to embarrass my kids. I am always doing things that are funny (at least to me) at their expense.  This is one of the best parts of being a parent.  What fun would it be to be a Dad with none of the built in benefits?

My latest round of embarrassment involves saying that they have a boyfriend/girlfriend. THEY HATE THAT.  Their biggest fear is that I will announce it on the radio.  How nice it must be to have that be your biggest fear.  Not a worry about paying bills or what will happen to One Direction.  Is it over or will they reunite at some point??

Val Townsend also likes to go out of her way to embarrass her kids.  The picture above is with her son Charlie.  His look is also priceless as if Val is cramping his style.  Val's kids are 7 and 2 and she is starting to experience the non-hand holding in public.  It's something that hurts at first, but if you embrace the power of embarrassment you can have fun with it. I have zero doubt that Val will go out of her way to do it right.

How about you?  Are you at the point where the kids are embarrassed?  We would love to hear your stories.  Leave a comment with how embarrassing you are (according to your kids, lol).
