Captured inmate David Sweat remains in serious condition at the Albany Medical Center, where he is in police custody and handcuffed to his hospital bed.

Over the past few days, David Sweat has told authorities that no power tools were used in the escape from the Clinton County Correctional Facility, which is contrary to the initial police reports from June 6th, and that he only used hacksaw blades, smuggled in frozen hamburger meat by Joyce Mitchell, to cut through the steel prison walls.

Sweat stated that he started cutting through the walls back in January and also had access to the catwalk in the prison bowels for several weeks before the escape.

Sweat told police that he even took a dry run of the escape route the night before he and Richard Matt made their big break.

Meanwhile, the State Department of Corrections announced on Tuesday that three members of the Clinton Correctional Facility executive team and nine security staff employees have all been put on administrative leave while the prison break investigation continues to unfold.
