Governor Andrew Cuomo and Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul were in Buffalo on Tuesday to announce their "Fight For Fair Pay" initiative.

The "fight" is calling for an increase to the state's minimum wage, and Cuomo is pushing for $10.50 an hour.

Cuomo said, "If you work full-time you should be able to afford for your family with decency and pride. If you raise the salary for minimum wage workers, the first thing they'll do is spent it. And that's the best way to stimulate the economy.

The current minimum wage is $8.75 and will increase to $9.00 on December 31, 2015.
