Cuomo: Bills Have Proposed Plan of 6,700 Fans for Playoff Game
Big news from New York State regarding the Buffalo Bills fans potentially attending their first home playoff game in 25 years.
According to WIVB, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the Bills have proposed a plan to allow 6,700 fans inside Bills Stadium for the home playoff game in early January.
The New York State Health Department is working with the team and looking into their model where fans would be tested before they enter the stadium. All attending fans would have to have proof of a negative test before being allowed in the stadium.
Not only that, but the state and the Bills would conduct contact tracing afterward, to see what the impacts were of fans attending.
State Health Commissioner Howard Zucker calls this a demonstration project, since no other team or stadium in the NFL has done this before (testing fans before the game).
Fans would be required to wear masks at all times. Those that do not would be thrown out of the stadium.
This plan has not been approved, as Governor Cuomo stresses this is still in development but both the Bills and state are working hard to find a way to allow fans to attend the team's first home playoff game since 1995.
