While Memorial took on a different character for most of us, Clarence was celebrating in a rather unique way...A Flag Parade.

The community came together for a flag parade and drove through the town with flags on their cars. WIVB-TV chronicled portions of the event and even spoke with some onlookers along the route.

Residents say they’re happy to see their neighbors unite to do something special during these trying times.  Regular celebrations like big parades with floats and marching bands had to be canceled due to the pandemic, and many families didn't get together for the usual picnic or barbeque.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor celebration, and this was the perfect way for the community to show their respect for those that have died protecting us and our freedoms.

The horns honking, the decorated cars, some military vehicles and the flags that symbolize what America is all about were in abundance in Clarence yesterday.

The Clarence Rotary Club, Clarence Citizens for Veterans, and Veterans in the Community organized the event.
