The Clarence doctor indicted on 114 counts for illegally prescribing opioids was released on $250,000 bail.

The attorney for Dr. Eugene Gosy fought to keep his medical license; however, his DEA registration (to write script for schedule 2, 3, 4, and 5 Narcotics) was revoked.

A sign was posted on Dr. Gosy's office door on Wednesday saying that the clinic was closed "due to an emergency." However, the office website stated that it will re-open on Thursday.

Eugene Gosy's medical license will be reviewed by the Office of Professional Medical Conduct. In the meantime, he is still allowed to perform nerve blocks and practice neurology.

Dr. Gosy is the sixth local doctor charged with over-prescribing narcotics.
