Is Yet Another Chick-fil-A Opening In Western New York?
It’s looking more and more like wherever you are in Western New York, there will be a Chick-fil-A near you.
Chick-fil-A must be big business in the Buffalo area. The fast food chain with the famous chicken sandwich was recently ranked as America's favorite, and Western New Yorkers seem to agree based on the number of them we have nearby.
Since the first Buffalo-area location opened on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga in 2018, four more sites have either opened or are planning on opening soon. A second Chick-fil-A opened quickly after the first one on the corner of Transit and Lossen Roads in Depew, and a new one will be opening on November 16th on McKinley Parkway in Hamburg. A fourth location is currently in development in the City of Buffalo inside Delaware Consumer Square on Deleware Avenue.
Now, could Western New York really be adding another Chick-fil-A restaurant to our area?
It’s a possibility that’s being considered by the Clarence town planning board at their meeting on Wednesday, November 9th.
Chick-fil-A has proposed the development of a new store at the site of a former Applebees at 5017 Transit Road. The plans call for a 5,000-square-foot restaurant and drive-thru, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
If the town of Clarence approves the proposal, it would make this location the fifth Buffalo-area Chick-fil-A and the first location in the Northtowns.
Does Western New York really need this many Chick-fil-A restaurants? Only time will tell - but one thing is for sure. Whenever a new Chick-fil-A location opens, the lines for the drive-thru are insanely long for weeks and sometimes even months. So, whenever you get a hankering for some grilled nuggets with a side of Chick-fil-A sauce and don’t want to wait all day, you’ll know there’s most likely another Chick-fil-A close by with a (hopefully) shorter line.
Just not on Sundays, of course.
