Cheektowaga Police Holding Free Child Car Seat Check

Car seats are the law, and they are life-savers.

Car accidents are the leading cause of death for children under the age of 12, and out of those deaths that occur -- 35% of those children were not properly restrained, according to the Center for Disease Control.

The Cheektowaga Police Department is holding a free car seat check on Friday June 7, from 10am-1pm at the Cheektowaga Police Station in the south lot.

Officers will be on hand to check your car seat, and to install seats as well.
